Perubians are introduced to arepas by Venezuela expats

Many Venezuelan professionals and students have made the decision to leave behind family and friends to look for better options abroad. They impact the communities they move to thanks to their profesional expertise, ease to adapt, their personality and cultural contribution they make.

Amaru TV of Peru has documented an example of that impact in the city of Lima. So far, it consists of a series of three videos showing how Venezuelans work selling arepas, tizana (Venezuelan fruit pounch), lemonade and clothes. The videos show the cheerful personality and willingness to work of the interviewees, it also emphasizes the fact that most are educated professionals. Doctors, lawyers, economists and military, among others, talk enthusiastically about the work they do. They use the negotiating skills we learn as children and manage to provide for themselves and their families.

They are not practicing their professions, at least not for the time beign, but they are grateful for the opportunity to have a decent job. They also thank and praise the Peruvian community that have welcomed Venezuelans and our culture. The residents of the area are happy for the presence of Venezuelans and take advange of the opportunity to enjoy the food.

These Venezuelans, like many others, say SOY VENEZUELA while on foreign land. Bringing with them joy and personality that characterizes Venezuelans they make the world fall in love with our culture and food. We sincerely thank Peru and all the countries that welcome us with open arms.
We invite you to watch all the videos:
